Roland
You were special Roland. Kind and thoughtful to everyone. You worked so hard for your degree which changed your life and took you to Sweden to meet Heidi and have a family with Tuva and Noah. I loved it when you would all come to England, you were all so happy together. Such a big smile on your face. I will always remember you like that. I will think of you often and keep you in my heart. My condolences to Heidi, Tuva and Noah. Love Kirsten x
Early years (second part)
... In the summer the family would enjoy days out at Highcliffe Beach, The New Forest and Southsea as well as yearly holidays to Butlins, The Isle of Wight and France. Roland left school in 1988 with 8 GCSE's. His first job upon leaving school was with Hobbs the Printers and enjoyed socialising at The Joiners pub with friends and going to Raffles & Thursday's nightclubs. He attended Reading music festival on a few occasions and one year he came home so caked in mud that his mum Jean refused to let him in the house until she had hosed him down in the garden! Roland developed a taste for playing the guitar and even set up a band with a few of his friends.
Early years
Roland Ian Clothier was born on 16 April 1972 to David & Jean Clothier at the Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton. He spent the first years of his life living at Warren Road Shirley Warren and then Percy Road Shirley with Dave, Jean and baby sister Rachel who came along in 1975. Roland was a very happy and cheeky character and settled into Tanners Brook infant school really easily. Roland was very bright, popular and had lots of friends. He loved nothing more than to draw, he used to doodle for hours every day and was very talented. He was a big Dr Who fan and would not miss a single episode on a Saturday evening. He also loved all the Star Wars films and enjoyed playing with his collection of Stars Wars figures. Roland quickly developed a love for computers and was absolutely made up when he got his first computer, a Commodore 64 one Christmas. His Dad Dave tried his very best to get Roland to follow his love of steam engines but this was not for him. Between the ages of 13 and 16 Roland was a member of the junior Air Training Corp but realised this wasn't for him. He would much rather have been at home playing on his computer or drawing.
To you Roly
We will be ok. Noah, Tuva and me. I will make sure we will be. He knows that you got a new cool skin now and that you got to next level. I love you Roly /Heidi
